FBI Guide to Pretexts and Cover Techniques

Recently uncovered by Government Attic is an official FBI document, not intended for eyes outside the Bureau. The document provides guidance on covert techniques and "pretexts." Essentially, the purpose of the document is to provide other Agents with real-world advice on how to engage in pretexting, aka covert techniques.

While the paper is really outdated (May 1956) it does give insight and tips as to how one might carry out social engineering attacks, such as during a physical penetration test. Check out the download link in this post and you might find a little gem or two for your next social engineering excursion.
